Car accidents can vary in intensity and severity. Neck pain and back pain can be common after car accidents and it can take days before these symptoms kick in. It's interesting that some people never have any aches or pains after a car accident whereas others have discomfort rather quickly. After an car accident, it is imperative that you make sure you are okay. You should seek medical attention if you aren’t feeling well. Your car can be replaced but your body cannot. If you feel that you need someone to take a look at you, then seek out a medical professional such as a chiropractor, a physical therapist, or your primary care provider. There are tests and guidelines to help determine if you need more specialized care or not. A physical examination, at the least, can put your mind at ease.

In general, gentle movement and heat may help the muscles stay relaxed. This can help you can fight the stiffness and achiness that may come after a car accident.

Do I need a lawyer after a car accident?

A lawyer after a car accident can be worth it in many ways. During my talk with Michael Humphries, I found it particularly interesting that he mentioned the attorney or lawyer would advocate for you to make sure you receive the benefits of your policy. An example of this is the PIP (personal injury protection). This policy includes dedicated funds to help you pay for medical expenses. Without a lawyer, it can be hard to capture the missed time from work or loss of enjoyment in your life. An injury impacts more than just your health.

An attorney will help make sure you are fairly compensated for aspects of your life that have changed and what may remain affected. So, do you NEED an attorney? Well, that is like saying do you need a Physical Therapist? If you are looking for expertise to make sure you doing what you should be doing and you get the outcome you deserve, then you want to seek the help of a professional.

The great news is that Michael Humphries offers free consultations. No risk or obligation but that few minute phone call may save you time, money, and further suffering.

Working with a smaller firm, such as Michael Humphries Law, comes with 3 key benefits.

  1. Communication. He gets back to his clients within the day. His personal phone number is given to each of his clients to make sure your questions are answered and you feel that you are supported throughout the process.
  2. Experience. He has worked for the insurance companies and he is aware of what exactly should be done after a car accident. This experience is invaluable.
  3. Personality. He is genuinely a nice guy and it can be hard to find good people. You want someone personable and experienced on your side.

Do I have to sue after a car accident?

Choosing to take legal action or sue an insurance company isn’t necessary in every case. When I spoke with Michael Humphries, he quickly addressed this question. If a suit does take place, it doesn’t make you a bad or litigious person. He assured me that in every case, he is able to personally help his clients make decisions that align with who they are and the outcome they deserve. No client is ever bullied into a decision they don’t want to make.

What does a lawyer do after a car accident?

1. Ensure you receive the benefits you deserve

If they insurance company isn’t cooperating then a professional like Michael, can ensure you receive the benefits you pay for. We pay for car insurance for a reason! Florida is a no fault state, so you don’t have to determine whose fault it was to access these benefits.

2. Gathering the right information and evidence to support the case

I am no implying that you absolutely need this, but if the situation arises you do, you want to be prepared. You don’t know, what you don’t know.

3. Receiving compensation for aspects of the car accident you may not have considered

This can include the pain, suffering, and inconvenience that can occur after a car accident. What if you need to rent a car? What if you have missed time from work? An attorney can help you answer these questions.

4. Making sure you are treated fairly

Insurance companies need to consider their profits and spending so what you need may not be at the center of their decision making. An attorney can make sure this happens! You want to make sure you have someone experienced in your corner.

If you are in a car accident in the Nocatee, Florida or the Jacksonville area, don’t wait to have pain relief

As Michael Humphries mentioned, you have PIP coverage (personal injury protection), that provides you with a lump sum of money to help you recover after a car accident. The great news is that wonderful providers such as Dr. Cardona or Dr. James can get you in quickly and they can determine if you need imaging, such as a MRI, or medication with conservative care. This can be determined by a physical examination. After that, reach out and I can help you get on the path of recovery with the upmost convenience. Mobile physical therapy is a great option because you don’t have to leave your home. It’s just one less thing to think about after an accident.

Neck and lower back pain are common after a car accident

It's not a guarantee you will have pain after a car accident, but not worry if you do. While our bodies didn't evolve to be able to withstand high forces over a quick period of time, they are very resilient. I have often witnessed people that develop aches and pains a few days after a car accident. You want to watch out for red flags, or symptoms that require a watchful eye. Often times, gentle stretches and movement are a great place to start. To be safe, reach out to your doctor and receive a physical examination if you aren't feeling yourself.
